Position Title:  Administrative Assistant (28 hours per week) @ $20.00/hr.

Reports to:  Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry President and Vice President

Summary of Position: This position is designed to provide diversified administrative/secretarial duties and assistance to the Chamber staff.

The Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry seeks a highly motivated, organized, detail oriented and outgoing professional to fill the important roll of Administrative Assistant. Key responsibilities include answering telephone calls, greeting visitors, providing information and direction to callers and walk ins, maintaining and ordering supplies and equipment, assisting with deposits, confirm submitted reservations for programs and events, prepare agendas, transcribe minutes of meetings, prepare and schedule meetings, send notices, and make reminder calls.

In addition, this important role will maintain an office daily calendar and collaborate with all areas, activities, and events while also being the Chamber liaison for the Council for Working Women.

Tracking of member investment packages, prepare monthly newsletters and assisting in special events while maintaining confidentiality is expected.

Qualifications/Skill Required:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint, Google Applications, and Canva is required. Experience with Constant Contact and HootSuite preferred. Experience in managing a database is necessary.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, collaborates, and works well with others, possesses excellent customer service skills, has a professional appearance and friendly disposition. Working knowledge of Joliet area businesses and organizations is a plus.

Some evening and weekend event attendance is required. A minimum of 2-5 years of related professional experience is required. Our employees are expected to actively promote and personally observe safety, security and confidentiality procedures and uses equipment safely.
