The Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry is proud to announce the continuation of an annual program born from its 110th Anniversary Celebration in 2024.

Now titled “The Visionary Series: Inspiring the Future of Business,” the program brings dynamic, high-profile speakers to the region in an elevated luncheon format. The second annual event will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Hollywood Casino – Joliet.

The Visionary Series elevates the Chamber’s long-standing tradition of educational luncheons into a signature annual event, providing a platform for inspiration, knowledge sharing, and networking, while reinforcing the Chamber’s mission to support the growth and success of businesses throughout the Joliet region.

The inaugural 2024 event featured a fireside chat with Crane Kenney, President of the Chicago Cubs, and David Kaplan, ESPN 1000 host and founder of the popular YouTube channel reKAP. They discussed the economic development of Gallagher Way and the area surrounding Wrigley Field, highlighting the positive impact on existing businesses and the area’s emergence as a year-round destination. Attendees also gained insight into the project’s vision, timeline, and key contributors.

The 2025 series continues with an engaging fireside chat featuring Kevin Cross, President and General Manager of NBC Universal Chicago, and David Kaplan. Together, they will explore the dramatic transformation of the media landscape over the past decade, including platform proliferation, the impact of streaming, audience fragmentation, and how technology has enhanced the viewer experience.

The discussion will also highlight NBCU’s role as an economic engine in the Chicagoland region, covering job creation, capital investment, and partnerships with local businesses. Kevin and David will share leadership insights and lessons learned from guiding one of the nation’s most influential media organizations—providing actionable takeaways for business leaders in attendance.
