MARCH MEMBER LUNCHEON

Please join us on Thursday, March 23, for our Member Luncheon at the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate in the Victorian Ballroom, located at 15 S. Richards Street. "BE INFORMED"...Fifteen candidates for the Joliet City Council "At Large" position have been invited to speak at our March luncheon.

SPRINGFIELD DRIVE DOWN

The Chamber is planning our annual Springfield Drive-Down for Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Our drive-down will begin with a luncheon on Tuesday, followed by a briefing, legislative meetings, reception and dinner. Cost to attend is $135.00 per person - this includes everything EXCEPT YOUR HOTEL RESERVATIONS. You are responsible for making your own hotel reservations. Invitations will be mailed to all members. ADVOCACY UPDATE

Governor Rauner presented his Budget Address on February 15 and the talk around the State continues to focus on the "Grand Bargain" that has been crafted by Senate President Cullerton and Senate Minority Leader Radogno. We are monitoring various proposed bills and just recently were briefed on the Budget, Workers' Comp, Pensions, and Education Funding at our 2/27 luncheon with Senators Bertino-Tarrant and McGuire, as well as Representatives Batinick, Manley, McDermed, Walsh Jr., and Welter. We will be receiving a Federal Briefing from a member of the US Chamber at the March committee meeting. Please consider taking part in our Springfield Drive-Down in May.
