Advocacy Update

The veto session will wrap up today and then the "lame duck" session will take place in January before new Senators and Representatives are sworn in. Yesterday, a vote was taken to oppose any effort to raise taxes in the final days of session in January, it (HR 1494) passed in the House on an 87-12 vote.

Governor Rauner and the four leaders have been meeting to discuss the ongoing budget issue and will hopefully continue to do so. We will be monitoring. We are also monitoring the Future Energy Jobs Bill (SB2814) which may be voted on today.
